PROFILE

This portfolio website contains the complete collection of projects I have been working on in the past years. The projects show an exploration of numerous scales, from urban design to furniture; a preference for the use of different design techniques, such as model making, sketching and computer drawings; and my experiences in different environments, professional and academic. A selection of projects is bundled in a printed volume, which can be read on ISSUU (link below).

Already at a very young age, I got passionate about drawing and making. Soon after, I discovered I wanted to be an architect. In the past five years of architectural education, I developed a passion for the architectural discipline and a strong believe in essential values of permanence, physical quality and character of place. Academically, I recognized myself as a structured and methodical worker, who tends to order and organize. I believe, however, that in the field of architecture and design processes a structured approach should be counterbalanced with an explorative one. I therefore consciously require myself to examine new subjects, scales and techniques to feed the creative process and avoid stereotypical thinking.

I graduated from my masters in architecture at the Eindhoven University of Technology and the Politecnico di Milano on the relation between dwelling and the urban condition in Milan. My graduation project is to be found here. Not only in the academic, but also in the professional field I aim to approach the discipline from different angles. I participated in educating and assessing bachelor students in multiple design studios and courses; I was able to work on several private commissions and realize my first built works and I worked as an intern at the Rotterdam office of West 8, a worldwide-recognized firm in landscape architecture and urban design. Here, I got to work in multi-disciplinary teams on different design stages of commissions and competitions. Finally,  I am currently working on multiple urban design projects with mixed programs at the Amsterdam-based firm of Rapp+Rapp.
